Big Red's in East Central Florida where I live are easy to find. Its the slot sized ones that you have to work to get.
I am in the Redfish Capital, Titusville, with the Mosquito Lagoon, and Indian River Lagoon only minutes away. I have a flats
boat, but find the Kayak the most fun. One Sunday I had (3) over-slot Reds to 30 pounds take their turns pulling the
kayak around, but as always, it was sad to have to release them. I take my 5yo daughter along on the kayak, to
increase the bag limit! She love fishing also. When I am in Panama City the end of November, if the weather offshore is
not favorable on a given day, that's what I will be searching for.

Awesome reply there Henry! It sounds like fisherman's heven down there!! But we have a big run on them 2!! The flats here that i fish run from Alabama Pass east to Fort Walton & Desten! A good 50 mile's or so. Red's, Flounder, Speck's, eavn a shark or 2!! I love the fact you take your daughter with you! Geting her started early is the way i started my grand kid's !! Wiliam 7, Trenity 6, & Brody 2, All have been on boats all there lives. And love fishing! By the way what's the lement on red's down there??? Just 1 up here!!!

I believe the slot is 18-27 to the fork and 1 per angler per day.

This limit is for all Florida state waters as far as I know. For those that boat one while
offshore, if you are in state waters (under 3 miles Atlantic / under 9 miles Gulf) this is the rule,
but beyond that, your in federal waters, and it is illegal to posess a Red in federal waters.

When I go serious fishing for slot sized Red's, I take my flats boat, with My wife, daughter
and even my mother, thus I can have (4) fish!

I think they know the slot limit all the ones I get are just shy or way over.....Anyway a blast to catch

Same here Scot! I have cought 2 slot's this year And i fish 2 to 3 time's a week! Can't count the over slot's Iv relest!!
