On the 7th of January the Blackwater Pyrates held a formal change of comand to install their new captain.  Retiring is Captain Hook'em Dano and coming on board is the new Captain Fins Up of the Bains Canal clan.  Captain Fins Up began his term with a vow of unity and dedication to community.  The Blackwater Pyrates first arrived on the shores of the Blackwater in 2006 and have fourished since.  For more information on the Blackwater Pyrates you can find them on Facebook or go to blackwaterpyrates.com.

The Blackwater Pyrates serve the community thropugh River Cleanup, boater safety and Maritime Preservation.  They host numerous events throughout the year such as the Mill Town Duck Race, the Skull Island Rafting, summer-long lighted boat parades, the Shipwreck Lecture, and may be seen each year in Milton's Ghostwalk Tour.  The Pyrate's clothing line can be found at the Milton Old Post Office and the Whiting Field Exchange.
